Event Description:
Lena Blou, internationally acclaimed choreographer, “Chevalier of the Legion of Honor”, scholar, author, and activist from France will perform at GSU with her dance company TRILOGIE. Léna Blou’s work explores questions of identity, language, trauma, memory, and globalization through the body in movement. In 2007, she co-stared in the documentary “The Country Backwards” which received theImmaterial Heritage Award at the 31st Real Cinema Festival and the Guadeloupe Award at the Saint Barth’s Caribbean Cinema Festival.
THE TRILOGIE LÉNA BLOU DANCE COMPANY has gained tremendous momentum internationally (Senegal, Slovenia, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, French Guiana, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, France…) and is scheduled to tour in GA in October 2013. Their Atlanta area visit is co-sponsored by Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, the University of Georgia, Spelman College, the University of West Georgia, and Emory University.
