Some of our students and faculty share why they chose Georgia State.
I chose Georgia State because it was in the city and close to everything. I didn’t really make the decision that I would enjoy going here until I took a tour of the school. I loved the city, which was a major factor in my decision, but I also liked everything the school had to offer. The Recreation Center is awesome, the school is an urban campus so you get to mingle with Atlanta life, and the business school is one of THE BEST in the country! — Jeremy
Downtown Atlanta attracted me at first, just for the endless opportunities. Then, my Campus Atlanta visit was amazing because of the tour guides, who made me feel like I was already a fellow student. Finally, most schools don’t have an organization like Career Services, and those that do come nowhere near the reputation of Georgia State. National rankings, alumni support, internships and co-op opportunities make Georgia State the best! — Christy
Students should choose a research institution because the professors that teach here usually not only teach their subjects, but they are very engaged in all aspects of their subjects. They are usually very knowledgeable of their topics and love talking to students about the different types of research they have done. — Raimon
Georgia State was my first choice school. I was attracted by the racial diversity, the location in the heart of downtown Atlanta, and the opportunity for a full-ride scholarship, even as an out-of- state student. Thankfully, I was awarded the Goizueta scholarship, which made it possible for me to attend Georgia State. I was also quite impressed with the kind and caring faculty and staff who made such an effort to assist with my transition not only to Georgia State but to Atlanta as a whole. — Grace
I was initially drawn by the dynamic faculty, a diverse student body, and a great city — my hometown. Georgia State is a great institution. I remember coming to the GSU library to work on science projects when I was in high school and have seen Georgia State evolve over the years into a premier urban research and teaching institution. — Dr. Beyah
