Check Your Application Status

Thank you for taking the time to apply to Georgia State University! You may check your admissions status in our online system anytime. Using your Panther ID number, you can receive online access to track your documents, ensure you meet admissions deadlines, and view the status of your application.

An application is only valid when submitted with the required application fee (or fee waiver, if applicable). After the application, fee, and required admission documents have been received, your application status will become complete. Only complete applicants will be processed and receive an admissions decision, depending on your application type, deadlines and qualifications, as follows.

Status Check For Freshmen Applicants

  • Early Action applicants will receive a decision as early as January 8, and no later than January 30.
  • Regular Decision applicants will receive a decision beginning March 1, and no later than May 1.
  • Regular Decision applicants who meet the scholarship consideration deadline will receive an admissions decision as early as February 15, or as late as May 1. Scholarship candidates may be contacted earlier regarding scholarship options.

When checking your status, you may find the following admissions status possibilities:

  • Accepted: official decision in which admission is approved/offered
  • Deferred: applicant is "on hold" during further review of applications
  • Denied: official decision in which admission is not approved
  • Waitlisted: applicant will be admissible if/when an open space becomes available

An applicant may also receive a status of withdrawn for scores if individual test score sections do not meet the Board of Regents test score mandates; withdrawn applicants may submit new test scores and contact Undergraduate admissions to request an official re-evaluation of their admission file.

For assistance, you may call our office Monday through Friday at 404-413-2500, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or contact your admission counselor directly.

Appeals for Admission

Students who receive an official denial admission decision are the only applicants who may submit an appeal. Appeals will be reviewed by a committee and applicants will be notified of a final decision by mail. There are two reasons a student would be considered for appeal:

  1. A denied applicant has earned higher test scores or raised his/her GPA and wishes to be re-evaluated through submission of updated documents.
  2. A denied applicant has compelling reasons explaining why his/her academic record or test scores do not meet the standards.

If you wish to appeal your denial to the university based on one of these options, you may complete the Appeal process through submission of the following documents as early as possible, but no later than July 1:

  • Official Appeal forms [PDF format]
  • Letter of Appeal explaining circumstances and reasons for reconsideration
  • Supporting documents (new test scores, updated transcripts, doctors' notes, medical records, death certificate, recommendations, resumes, explanation of academic rigor, etc.)
