Transient

If you are a non-U.S citizen enrolled in a U.S institution and wish to attend Georgia State as a transient student, please apply following the steps below:

To be eligible to attend Georgia State as a transient student, you must be enrolled at an accredited U.S institution and already have a student visa.

1. Complete the online application and submit the non-refundable $60 application fee. You may also print, complete, and submit the PDF version of the application.
2. Submit an official statement from the appropriate academic official at your home institution granting permission to enroll at Georgia State University. Statements must be received in sealed envelopes or mailed directly from the institution. Faxed or unsealed copies are not acceptable.
3. Submit the appropriate documents depending on your legal status:
   • Student visa holders: submit a copy of your I-94 card or U.S visa showing current status.
   • Permanent resident: submit a copy of both sides of your Green Card.

Please be aware that as a transient student you may only attend one fall or one spring semester. However, you may attend unlimited summer semesters.

If you would like to change your status to transfer student after attending Georgia State as a transient student, you must re-apply as a transfer student.

Financial aid is typically not available for transient students.
