If you are not an American citizen and wish to transfer from a U.S. institution* to Georgia State, please apply using the guidelines below:
Please note that to be considered a transfer student, you must have completed at least 30 transferrable semester credit hours or 45 transferrable quarter hours**.
- Complete the online application and submit the non-refundable $60 application fee. You may also print, complete, and submit the PDF version of the application.
- Have official transcripts submitted from any post-secondary institutions you have attended.
- If you have completed any post-secondary education outside the United States, you must have that transcript submitted and evaluated by an Evaluation Agency.
- If English is not your first language and you have not completed a college-level English composition course with a grade of C or better at an accredited institution in the U.S., you must submit your TOEFL or GSTEP scores.
- Submit the appropriate documents depending on your legal status:
- Non-immigrant visa holders: submit a copy of your I-94 card or U.S visa showing current status.
Students on any visa type other than permanent residents are considered non-immigrant visa holders.
- Permanent residents: submit a copy of both sides of your Green Card
- Undocumented students: notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions of your status. This will not influence your admission decision, but we must be notified of your status in order to proceed with your file.
*If you are transferring from an accredited institution in Puerto Rico, you are not required to have transcript evaluated. However, you must submit an official copy of your transcript as well as your TOEFL or GSTEP scores if English is not your first language.
**If you have completed less than 30 transferrable semester credit hours or 45 transferrable quarter hours at a foreign institution, please apply using the appropriate guidelines for freshmen applicants. In addition to those documents, you will also need to have all post-secondary transcripts evaluated and submitted to Georgia State.
