Transfer: Non-Immigrant Visa

If you are holding a non-immigrant visa and wish to transfer from an accredited foreign institution to Georgia State, please apply using the guidelines below.

Please note that to be considered a transfer student, you must have completed at least 30 transferrable semester credit hours or 45 transferrable quarter hours*.

  1. Complete the online application and submit the non-refundable $60 application fee. You may also print, complete and submit the PDF version of the application.
  2. Have transcripts from all foreign institutions you have attended evaluated by an Evaluation Service.
    • Students who do not have their transcripts evaluated by Josef Silny must also submit the original copies of their transcripts to Georgia State.
  3. If English is not your first language, you must submit TOEFL or GSTEP scores.
  4. If you are on a non-immigrant visa, you must submit a copy of your I-94 card or U.S visa showing current status.

    Students on any visa type other than permanent residents are considered non-immigrant visa holders.

*If you have completed less than 30 transferrable semester credit hours or 45 transferrable quarter hours at a foreign institution, please apply using the guidelines for incoming freshmen educated outside the U.S. In addition to those documents, you will also need to have all post-secondary transcripts evaluated and submitted to Georgia State.
