Freshmen: Non-American Citizen or First Language Is Not English
If you are a non-U.S citizen but have attended high school in the U.S. and wish to enter Georgia State as a freshman, please apply following the guidelines below:
- Complete the online application and submit the $60 non-refundable application fee. You may also print and complete the PDF version of the application.
- Have an official transcript sent from your high school.
- If you have attended any high school outside of the U.S and those courses and grades do not appear on your high school transcript, please have them added to your transcript before submitting it to Georgia State.
- Have your official SAT/ACT test scores submitted electronically to Georgia State directly from the testing organization.
- To be considered for admission, you must meet the minimum test score requirements mandated by the University Board of Regents:
- SAT: 430 Critical Reading, 400 Math
- ACT: 17 English, 17 Math, and 17 Composite Score
- If English is not your first language and you do not meet our minimum Critical Reading/English score requirements on the SAT or ACT, you must submit TOEFL or GSTEP scores.
- Submit the appropriate documents depending on your legal/residency status:
- Non-immigrant visa holders: submit copy of your I-94 card or U.S visa showing current status. Students on any visa type other than permanent residents are considered non-immigrant visa holders.
- If you are on a B1, B2, F1, F2, or J1 visa, you must also complete the International Applicant Immigration Form(PDF) and submit all additional documents listed on the form.
- Permanent Resident: submit copy of both sides of your Green Card
- Undocumented: notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions of your status. This will not influence your admission decision, but we must be aware of your status in order to proceed with your application.
