Bruce Spratt
Assistant Vice President for Finance and Comptroller

Bruce spent over five years in the Georgia Department of Audits and fourteen years in University System of Georgia prior to joining Georgia State University in 2006. He is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Kennesaw State University. As Assistant Vice President for Finance and Comptroller, he oversees Accounting Services, Business Services, Disbursements, and Revenue and Receivable Services.

Ronnie Laster
Director - Accounting Services

Ronnie spent over nineteen years in Miami-Dade County Human Services and three years in Fulton County Schools prior to joining Georgia State University in September 1998.  She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Florida International University. As Director of Accounting Services, Ronnie oversees the preparation of Georgia State University’s annual financial reports including audit schedules and insuring that they are prepared in accordance with Georgia State University and Board of Regents Policies and Procedures and are GAAP compliant and Georgia State University Research Foundation and Georgia State University Athletic Association annual financial reports including audit schedules; Cash Management for the University; Monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closings; Monthly financial statements for Auxiliary Enterprises, Athletic Association, Student Activities Operations and Fee Comparison, Georgia State University Research Foundation and University Interest Analysis; Daily posting of all journals entries for the University; and the General Ledger Module of Spectrum.

Catrice Clark
Director - Revenue, Receivable & Cashiering Services

The Associate Director of Revenue, Receivable & Cashiering Services oversees the University Cashier’s Office, and the accounting staff responsible for reconciling revenue and expenditures for Federal Financial Aid Awards (Loans, Grants, and Work-study), State Financial Aid Awards, Miscellaneous and GSU Foundation Scholarships, Private and GSU Foundation Loan Programs, Student Accounts Receivables, Departmental Accounts Receivables, Online Payment Options for Students and Campus Departments (Credit Card and E-Check), Returned Checks, Credit Card Disputes, as well as reporting Tuition and Mandatory Fee Revenue, maintaining the Banner Student Subsidiary Ledger, and managing the University Write Off and Reserves for Uncollectible Debts processes.

Jean Pearson
Director - Disbursements & Accounts Payable Services

Jean has many years of experience as a bookkeeper and accounts payable professional working for several large for-profit organizations.  Jean joined the world of not-for-profits as Payroll Administrator for the Metro Atlanta YMCA, followed by Associate Director of Payroll at Georgia State University.  She joined the Office of Disbursements as Director in 2005.  She is a Certified Accounts Payable Professional.

Larry J. McCalop, MBA
Director - Purchasing and Business Services

Larry J. McCalop joined Georgia State University in September 1992. Larry has extensive experience in both public and private purchasing and contract administration. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance. Prior to joining Georgia State, Larry was a Sectional Supervisor with the State of Georgia, State Purchasing Division. Prior to joining the central purchasing office for the State of Georgia, Larry held managerial positions within other public and private organizations.

As Director of Business Services, Larry provides leadership for the Purchasing, Property Control and Card Programs and Support Services units of the Division of Finance and Administration.

Matthew spent over 12 years in the private practice of law, including seven years as in-house counsel to two large companies prior to joining Georgia State University in June 2012.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and holds a Juris Doctorate from The University of Georgia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University.  As Director of Enterprise Risk Management, he is responsible for creating a sustainable process to visualize, assess and manage risks across Georgia State University to ensure the attainment of key organizational objectives.

Davy McDonald
Technology Manager - Comptroller's Office

Davy joined Financial and Accounting Services in August 1999.  Prior to his current position, Davy served fourteen years as an auditor in GSU's University Auditing and Advisory Services, two years as an auditor with the Georgia Department of Transportation, and two years as an auditor with the Tennessee Department of Audits.  Davy received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from The University of Alabama. His duties include developing technology solutions for the departments in Financial and Accounting Services, coordinating audit examinations, and preparing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.               

Jeff Cundiff
Manager - Financial Reporting & Asset Accounting

Jeff spent over 22 years at the Georgia Department of Audits prior to coming to Georgia State University in 2009.  He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA degree in 1986.  As the Manager of Financial Reporting and Asset Accounting he is responsible for preparing various internal and external financial reports including DS&S, EMBA and Capital Projects.  He is also responsible for accounting for the capital and operating leases and overseeing and supervising the PeopleSoft asset  module accounting.
