Admission Requirements
Requirements for undergraduate admission differ for different types of students. To see specific admissions requirements, choose the type of admission that best fits your situation.
- Freshmen Admission
Freshmen applicants are those students who have never enrolled in a college or university (unless jointly enrolled while completing high school).
- Transferring to Georgia State from Another College
Transfers are those students who have attended a college or university after high school, but who now want to work toward a degree at Georgia State.
- Visiting (Transient) Student Admission
Applicants who are just stopping by Georgia State for a semester, as part of a degree at another institution will want to read this information for visiting (transient) students.
- Going to College in High School
The Program for Excellence (PFE) is an opportunity for the academically outstanding high school student to enroll as a special undergraduate student at Georgia State.
- Returning to Georgia State
Those students who have previously attended Georgia State University, will want to read this important information to learn if they may meet the requirements for reentry.
- Postbaccalaureate
Applicants who have a bachelor's degree and who wish to take undergraduate courses without being admitted to a degree program are considered postbaccalaureate students.
- Students Who Have Been Home-Schooled
Students who have been home-schooled or graduated from a non-accredited high school need to follow additional procedures to apply for admission.
- International Students
Some special requirements apply to students who hold immigrant visas or who have been educated outside of the United States.
