Students from GSU’s economics and political science classes, along with Student Government Association members and campus tour guides, served as an enthusiastic audience for CNN host Rick Sanchez’s live broadcast and discussion on AIG bonuses, bank bailouts, the economy and pop culture March 16 at the Student Center.

Rajeev Dhawan, director of the GSU’s Robinson College of Business Economic Forecasting Center, was a featured guest on the show, sharing his latest economic predictions with Sanchez and CNN viewers.

College of Education graduate student Maru Gonzalez, a regular commentator on the show, interviewed GSU students in the audience. Students chimed in on former Vice President Dick Cheney’s role in the economic crisis, the need for more bank regulation and the public’s responsibility to be informed citizens.

Rick Sanchez anchors the 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. edition of CNN Newsroom each weekday and serves as a contributor for CNN en Español. Based in the network’s headquarters in Atlanta and New York, Sanchez joined the network in September 2004.
