GRADUATE PROGRAMS
The Department of Political Science offers comprehensive Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programs. These programs train students for academic and research careers as political scientists and as practitioners in the political world. Students pursue their interests in courses representing all of the discipline's major fields: American politics, comparative politics, international relations, public administration & policy, and political theory. Our programs have much to offer--unique research opportunities, valuable teaching experience, and (above all) intellectual challenge. The Department is proud of its rich, longstanding commitment to academic excellence, our diverse and dynamic student body, and our accomplished faculty. Our graduates fill important posts in research universities, teaching colleges, government, and the private sector. The Department offers graduate research and teaching assistantships on a competitive basis. We hope you will apply to join us!
