Accessing the Spectrum System from the Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 workstation:
To access the Spectrum System, you must first install the necessary citrix client on your workstation. (This process involves downloading, saving, and then installing the spctrm60.exe file on your machine.) After successful installation of this software, a Spectrum Applications folder appears on your desktop. Users access the Spectrum System by clicking on this folder, and then choosing the desired application.
NOTE:
Users who installed Citrix ICA Client Software prior to 1/11/99 must uninstall existing software before attempting this process. Click for uninstall procedures.
Read all instructions before beginning, or print a copy of reference.
Installing the Citrix ICA Client (spctrm60.exe) on your workstation:
Download and Save spctrm60.exe:
- Go to http://www.gsu.edu/citrix
- Scroll to Downloadable Files:.
- Click on spctrm60.exe.
- The default download directory should be C:\Temp. (Create this directory if necessary.)
- In the Unknown File Name dialog box, click on Save File...
or
In the Save As dialog box, click on Save.- Close this window.
Install spctrm60.exe:
- Go to your desktop.
- Click on "My Computer."
- Click on the "C" drive.
- Scroll down to the temp directory.
- Click on the temp directory.
- Locate and click on spctrm.exe to start the set-up process.
- Click Next in the "Welcome" window.
- Click Yes in the Citrix License Agreement window. (If this window does not appear, proceed to next step.)
- Click Next in the "Choose Destination Location" window.
- Click Next in the "Select Program Folder window.
- Click Next in the "ICA Client Name" window.
- Close the "C:/windows/......." window.
- Click OK in the "Information" window which prompts you to reboot your machine.
- In the "Finished-setup" window, confirm that the last line reads "Installation Complete."
- Close the "Finished-setup" window. (It is important to close, and not simply minimize, the window.)
- Close the C:\temp window if it is open.
- Re-start the machine.
The Citrix software file (spctrm60.exe) is installed. A Spectrum Applications folder (containing the Excel, Spectrum Help, Spectrum Training, Spectrum, Citrix Program Neighborhood, and Word icons) is now visible on your desktop.
To access the Spectrum System, choose one of the following options:
Novell 3.x servers
Includes users in Finance & Administration located in Sparks Hall and Alumni Hall, and the College of Health and Human Sciences.Netware 4.x servers
Includes all users other than those listed as Novell 3.x.
