The Pledge Social
The fall pledge social was held on September 3rd from 4:30pm till 5:30pm. Attending
the event was the officers, new pledges, and members from various firms.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, and Smith & Howard
were among the firms present.
The meeting started off with our faculty advisor, Dr. Johnson, speaking to the pledges
about the benefits of joining Beta Alpha Psi. The most important message was that
being a member allows far more opportunities to network with various firms. It also
provides a place for students with similar interests to get to know each other.
Following his speech were brief comments from Shaun Lockhart of PwC, Anne Steele Fortune
of KPMG, and a representative from Smith & Howard.
Afterwards the pledges were encouraged to speak with the firms that were present.
During this time pledges grabbed refreshments, which were provided by Nancy’s Pizza,
and mingled with the firm members, officers, and each other.
